The Sevier County Court Calendar
There is no single Sevier County court calendar for every trial and city court. The Sevier County Clerk & Master publishes the clearest county calendar material: Chancery calendars, docket-sounding notices, an inclement-weather policy, and court-specific video instructions. Circuit and General Sessions settings must be traced through their own clerks. Juvenile dates use the Juvenile Division, and municipal sessions remain with the issuing city.
A calendar is a schedule source, not the full case history. It may be arranged by court, judge, session, or broad date block. Sevier County has not published a public daily docket with a name search, attorney filter, courtroom selector, or export tool. The best proof of an individual date remains the current signed order or latest entry in the responsible clerk's case file.
Sevier County Chancery Calendar
Sevier Chancery Court uses docket sounding to plan trial settings. The Clerk & Master states that cases are set at docket sounding on the first Monday of June and the first Monday of November. Published material includes calendars for July through December 2026 and January through December 2027, plus a June 1, 2026 docket-sounding notice.
A sounding date is not automatically the trial date. It is a calendar call at which a case can be addressed and placed on a later trial schedule. Read the resulting order or updated docket entry before treating the sounding date as the day for evidence or testimony. Rylee Munson's office maintains the Chancery docket at 125 Court Avenue, Suite 108 W, Sevierville, and answers calendar questions at (865) 453-4654.
Official calendar links on the Clerk & Master page are the right starting point for a Sevier County Chancery matter. They do not cover Circuit, General Sessions, Juvenile, or municipal cases.
The official Clerk & Master page shows the calendar and docket-sounding links in their county context.
The captured page helps distinguish the Chancery schedule channel from the other Sevier County courts.
How to Find Your Court Date
Start with the source closest to the case. A citation, summons, indictment, notice, or prior order should identify the court and often carries the case or citation number. That clue determines which Sevier County office can confirm the court date.
- Read the court name and preserve the case number exactly, including punctuation and leading zeros.
- Check the Clerk & Master calendar for Chancery matters or an official city calendar for a municipal session. Tennessee Public Case History may be used only if the matter is already in an appellate court.
- Call the correct clerk. Circuit criminal uses (865) 774-3731; Circuit civil uses (865) 453-5536 ext. 3; General Sessions criminal and traffic uses (865) 453-6116; General Sessions civil uses (865) 429-5671.
- Ask whether the date is active, passed, reset, or superseded. Confirm the setting type, time, judge, courtroom or building, and any approved remote procedure.
- Visit the clerk's counter for a current docket or setting copy if the phone and published calendar do not settle the question. An attorney in the case can also confirm a filed order.
The Tennessee appellate Public Case History is not a Sevier County trial-calendar portal. County payment sites also do not prove the next date.
Sevier County City Calendars
The four city courts publish different kinds of schedule clues. An official Sevierville City Court event showed a Tuesday session from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Council Hall. That event is evidence of a public session, not a search result for one person's citation.
Pigeon Forge police reports say Municipal Court is held at 3225 Rena Street on Thursdays each month at 2:00 p.m.; court questions go to (865) 429-7411 during published weekday hours. Gatlinburg lists Records/Court hours and the City Court Clerk at (865) 436-1419, but no public case-level calendar was found. Pittman Center materials refer to monthly traffic court and provide phone and mail payment routes, not an online setting search. In each city, the municipal clerk should confirm the date tied to the citation.
Note: A recurring city session time does not replace the notice or order assigned to a specific Sevier County municipal case.
The official city calendar source illustrates how a public session is presented.
Its event format is useful for session planning, but it does not expose a party-name or case-number search.
Reading a Court Setting
A Sevier County setting line should be read as a set of linked facts. The date alone is not enough. Match it to the correct court, case number, event type, and location. If a public calendar omits one of these fields, ask the clerk to fill the gap.
| Date | The day currently assigned by the court, subject to a later signed order or reset. |
|---|---|
| Time | The start of a docket call or an individual setting; ask which one applies. |
| Courtroom | The room, floor, or building where the matter will be called. Old directions may predate the 2026 move. |
| Judge | The judicial officer or court division assigned to the setting. |
| Setting Type | The purpose, such as arraignment, motion hearing, review, docket sounding, plea, or trial. |
The latest order controls when it conflicts with a broad web event. A docket can also show a past date beside a later reset, so read the entries in date order.
Sevier County Setting Terms
Setting labels describe different stages. They should not be treated as synonyms, and the local clerk can verify wording that appears on a Sevier County notice.
- Docket sounding
- A Chancery calendar call used to address cases and set trial dates.
- Preliminary hearing
- A General Sessions stage that tests whether a felony matter proceeds toward Circuit Court.
- Motion hearing
- Argument on a request for a court order, not necessarily a trial.
- Status or review
- A check on progress, compliance, or unresolved steps in the case.
- Continuance or reset
- A change that moves a prior event to another date or setting.
A plea setting, sentencing date, jury trial, and nonjury trial also have distinct functions. Confirm the event before deciding what papers or participants are required.
Resets, Continuances, and Cancellations
A Sevier County date does not change merely because a party expects more time. Fourth Judicial District criminal rules show that scheduling is coordinated with the judge's secretary and clerk so an approved change reaches the docket. The county does not publish a machine-readable list showing how every reset, pass, or continuance appears.
Read the newest dated order and the latest docket entry. Then ask whether the older setting was superseded. A date that vanishes from a broad calendar may have moved, but absence alone is not proof of cancellation. Likewise, a weather closure does not dismiss a case. Check the court's notice or the Clerk & Master's weather policy and contact the clerk for the new status.
For a fuller case lookup after a setting changes, use the Sevier County case search routes and choose the custodian named on the filing.
Sevier County Chancery Settings
The Clerk & Master links Chancellor Ripley's Zoom Video Conferencing Instructions, updated June 2, 2026. That is firm evidence of remote procedures for matters covered by those Chancery instructions. It is not a countywide promise of remote access.
Do not reuse a Chancery link for Circuit, General Sessions, Juvenile, Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, or Pittman Center court. Ask the responsible office whether the judge has approved a remote appearance and which written order governs it. The Sheriff's court-security rules also restrict phones and other items at courthouse entry, so a device used at home may not be allowed inside a court building.
What To Do If You Miss a Setting
Contact the court named on the notice at once. Give the clerk the case number and ask what the docket now shows. Contact counsel if one represents you. Do not assume the matter was reset or dismissed, and do not appear at a different office without checking the location.
Missed a Setting? A missed date can lead to a failure-to-appear response, warrant, bond action, default, or another court order, depending on the case.
Call the responsible Sevier County clerk promptly and ask how to confirm the current status and next setting.
A licensed Tennessee attorney can advise on the legal steps needed after the missed appearance.
For Circuit and General Sessions matters, current offices are in the Rex Henry Ogle Courts Building at 127 Commerce Street. The Juvenile Division and Clerk & Master remain at 125 Court Avenue. The county's 2026 opening notice is the safer location source because older directory entries may still show legacy rooms.
The same county opening notice records the building change that can make an old calendar location stale.
Use that current location notice with the clerk's date confirmation before a Sevier County court appearance.
